If you are a professional organizer, or if you want to get started in the industry, virtual organizing services are becoming more and more popular. Being able to successfully schedule organizing services in a professional and concise way is extremely important if you choose to have this service for your business. This article talks about how to schedule virtual organizing services through my favorite program, Calendly.

I am often asked what tools are needed to coach or consult with organizing clients virtually. I personally use Calendly.

Calendly is an online scheduling tool that allows professional organizers and other consultants and coaches to book online virtual services with their clients.

I love using Calendly. It’s straightforward, easy to use, and it implements well with my professional organizer website.

If you aren’t sure if virtually scheduling clients is right for your business, ask yourself this one important question:

Would you like to schedule your professional organizing clients from your website any time of day, even when you are working with another client?

If you answered yes, then you definitely need to incorporate this service into your business model.

Let’s talk about how to do this.

Lately, I have taken on more virtual clients. This isn’t just because of the pandemic, however that has played a part. The reason I’ve taken on more virtual clients is because it’s easy for the customer and it’s a little less of a commitment.

Also, making an appointment online is super easy. Clients don’t have to call or send an email. Instead, they get access to all available time slots and they pick right then and there. There is even an option to view all of the different services I offer, which makes it easy for the client to decide what sort of package to book with me.

Calendly has been a great tool in making this endeavor happen successfully for my business and I highly recommend it for you if you have a professional home organizing business.

Why Use Calendly as a Professional Organizer

Calendly is a powerful online tool that helps my business run smoothly. Here are just a few things it can do (that I personally use it for with my business):

  • Your customers can book appointments with you online
  • Clients can pay for their appointments online (in full or by making a deposit)
  • Clients can schedule different types of appointments including in-person, planning sessions, phone coaching, etc.…

When every detail is laid out for them on an online platform, it removes some room for human error. Also, since we live in a modern society where technology is the new normal, people want to be able to make appointments, see all their options, and pay all within 5 minutes. This is more difficult to do over the phone or through email.

Why I Love Using Calendly for My Virtual Organizing Services

My business was majorly upgraded when I started using Calendly. Here are a few things that I love about it:

  • Automatically adds the appointment to your calendar
  • Automatically creates an online meeting link (sent to both you and your client)
  • Displays your availability on your website in real-time
  • Sends reminders to your customers

Yeah, it’s pretty awesome! It saves me time to focus on other aspects of my business, and I can actually grow my business faster with a tool like this.

Which Calendly Plan is Right for My Business?

If you’ve decided that providing virtual organizing services is right for your business and if you think that Calendly is the way to go, you will need to choose a plan.

Calendly has a free basic plan that you can start with. However, if you want more flexibility (like I want in my organizing business), then plan to pay a small fee each month so that you can have more flexibility to create different types of appointments. It’s definitely worth it.

There are a few other outside things you will need to incorporate with your Calendly plan. Here are some of the other things you will need for a successful Calendly experience:

  • an online calendar: In order for the appointment to show up on your calendar, you need to have one first such as Google Calendar or iCal
  • an online meeting account: Calendy just provides the scheduling services. To actually have a virtual meeting, I recommend using Zoom or Go to Meeting
  • a service to collect payments: You will still need to have a program for collecting money such as PayPal or Stripe
  • a website: This is very important. If creating a website seems like a difficult take, check out my post The 5 Must-Haves for your Professional Organizer’s Website
